I support our troops much that I want then to come alive and well. That means get out of Iraq tomorrow or yesterday..

You do realize we still have military installations in Japan and Germany, right? I predict we'll be in Iraq at least as long, but just like Germany and Japan, people will want to go there to experience the culture on the government's dime. And I hope you're not suggesting that the families of the troops, who for the most part favor our being in Iraq, don't support their soldiers because they know they need to be there and don't want them pulled out of Iraq.

Both. Check out VeteransVote.org. A Colonel who's been there thinks the troops need to come home. Disagreement with the war isn't automatically synonomous with non-support of the troops.

Interesting question.
Perhaps we should have continued our policy of no effective military response to the tactics of the terrorists - you remember - the policy that ultimately led to the events of 9/11?
And, please, don't delude yourself into thinking our policy of inaction didn't play a huge role in the events of 9/11. The terrorists have stated that our inaction was a sign of weakness - and history has clearly shown that our lack of an effective response only led to more terror and murder.

Depends on how many troops you want to sacrifice defending our own soil against an emboldened enemy who wants to, and has clearly stated, their goal (commonly held by cheering millions) to conquor and destroy the United States of America.
We could pull out now. How many will die because of it?
Running is often useful.
Most of the time, with any predator chasing them, it is deadly to the one fleeing.
A more Un-American attitude I cannot imagine. Too bad so many of our idealistic American socialists think in such a short-term way.

We are still in Japan and Germany. We will not have the large number of troops in Iraq forever. Getting a little over dramatic there aren't you? Bringing them home too soon will only create more deaths.

"...leave them in Iraq for decades...?" Have the troops that Clinton sent to Bosnia come home yet? He promised that he wouldn't send American troops in, he'd send them but bring them home in six months, they wouldn't be home in six months but certainly before he left office......AND THEY'RE STILL IN BOSNIA!!!!!! You are so right! With friends like Clinton, who needs enemies?
