Always remember that customers tend to become demanding because they have been unhappy with the goods or service. Besides, those nasty automated machines reached first by the customers could have raised their blood pressures before they get to you. If they hear a nice and comforting voice immediately, that does tend to lower their blood pressure slightly. If you sound incompetent and rude to them, you'll get nowhere with them. I always believe that temperamental people, or people who lack patience should never be employed in Customer Service. in these modern age -- especially when there are so many Unethical Businesses producing bad quality goods and lousy services. And there's one more thing that easily irritates customers... a customer service person who beats around the bush and sounds like she lacks knowledge on the goods or services of her/his company, or appears as lost as the customer. :-)

These costumers calling are already desperate and confused. The best thing to do is to let them do all the talking first. And then you listen and try to become patient. And then try to answer them in the kindest means possible. Don't loose your temper. And if they are still very demanding, try to tell them to call back to give you more time to evaluate and compose your answer once they call back.

you are the author of your individual misfortune! all of us know mothers wield grandparents' get right of entry to to the grandchild. Use it! as long as you clarify to better half which you married him, no longer his family members and so which you are able to shrink their get right of entry to to you and the baby to those applications you opt to attend and purely for as long as they behave themselves. assure him which you're completely arranged to describe your movements if/as required, so which you will extra effective dream up a tactful purpose and preparation it on him first - something like, 'i'm no longer used to a huge family members or the tenets of a faith that in many circumstances veer sharply with my own. Nor do I choose to guard my perspectives, so absenting ourselves to keep away from conflict seems the main non violent answer.'that's my selection. we are going to see the way it is going.' Then follow your weapons. The charm of grandchild is such that they are going to in all probability stand down some stairs. Or no longer. if so, you have a clearer photograph of their priorities and the place you and your son parent. continually revealing in those disagreements! in case you supply in, on the different hand, you will have not got any peace. regrettably, you have already caved to one and all of their demands - a huge mistake - yet, thankfully, that is not any longer undo-in a position. warning: that is significant which you would be able to grant a quick clarification on your selection to omit the 1st few activities if a proof is sought. better half can assist you your selection(s), rather, yet you are the main participant right here and grandparents be attentive to it whether you do no longer. it would be unfair to assume better half to 'stick up for' you in case you haven't any longer the braveness of your individual convictions. back, you are the single wielding get right of entry to to the coveted grandchild. Wield!

It would almost depend on your kind of business.
If you are in collections, there is no way to deal with someone who has 40k excuses not to honor their obligations.
Any chance in other customer service job that you can just empathize with them. "I know that you are upset", let me see if there is anyway that I can help you......
