It's possible, if he received some sort of counseling or rehab. Most likely he is the same man who beat you. "Actions speak louder than words". Don't put yourself through the abuse- you don't deserve it. No one does.

i know that the women's shelters will tell you no a man that hits his wife will not change. i however don't paint with such a huge brush. some men may well change . i think the relationship needs a good deal of change in order to learn how both people can argue with out such terrible behavior. keep in mind women abuse men
yes that is right my brother is an medic and he told me women hitting there husbands is as common or more common then the other way round. now the women are listened to when they report abuse but the men who are being hit are laughed at by the police. i know of one case where the wife walked up to the husband and smashed his face with a pan . according to my brother who seeing this all the men almost never file complaints
so can the women change i figure its just as it is with men each case is different .i would tell your husband that if the hitting does not stop now permanently you will have him arrested. i would leave for good if that happen again .

Why have you ever tolerated this for 4 yrs? curiously it hasn't continuously afflicted you. i would not ever tolerate being dealt with as you describe. there is merely no justification for it. the guy has anger administration subject concerns or maybe if there is greater to the story than you're sharing, he certainly desires anger administration medical care. in my opinion, i would not have lasted previous the 2d "azzhole" episode. You of direction could do what's top for you (i do no longer advise having little ones with this guy).

Certainly... It's a CHOICE that he makes. Should he make the very foolish mistake of choosing to raise a hand to you again, you need to make the solid choice to tell him to take a walk and keep on walking.

i agree,it is possible for him to change. But do you really want to stay and see if he does, where you could be with someone else you wouldn't lay a hand on you, and treat you lke a princess??

good luck

this happened to my friend... they don't change. They probably say tehy have, but they have'nt.Physical abuse is serious and does not easily change. it can become a mental illness and can get worse according to dramatic events.. don't get back with him.. my friend did that. it may be hard, but you shouldn't feel sorry for him. good luck
