Green Day and MCR are soooo much better, what's the deal-yo?

You didn't just compare ... MCR with NIRVANA! That's quite an insult... Just because Green Day and MCR has a more "catchy" tune and screechy voices... doesn't make them better... Well maybe you're into Green Day and MCR kind of stuff but 'older' people just like to stick with the 90's bands..

no man you can't say anything about Nirvana. They are one of best bands ever! I LOVE them. Green Day and MCR shouldn't even be compared to the greatness of Nirvana! And what do you mean by "older"? I'm only 14.

what do you mean older people ( is 23 old to you, what are you like 8 or some thing). I love green day and Nirvana. One doesn't have to be better than the other, they can both be number 1

Nirvana had nothing to do with the Punk rock/ Emo scene......They were from the genre Grunge rock......which was a popular sound in the early 90's.....back then MCR wasnt even on thought of yet, and Greenday, was only fairly new to the mainstream scene.....

WTF?!?! There's no way in hell that you can compare Nirvana to Green Day and MCR. And I'm not an older person. But there is no comparison; Nirvana beats any pop rock band like MCR and Green Day.

I don't! I was in a rock and roll band at the time and I remember how good music was before they came along and wrecked it all. For one thing, there leader Kurt Cobain was a big loser druggie that has a wife who is equally as bad. Nirvana is like the Tower of Babel in music history. Once they came out with grunge, each race went their seperate way with their own music.

Not only old people does it... young people who never got the chance to see them in concert believe they are cool. green day is good too, but these guys are old school, they had teach all these bands to become as good as they are... Nirvana is awesome everyone with good taste in music will knew it.

Because Nirvana are thought of as pioneers of the grunge era of rock. They were the first of their kind (grunge bands) to make it big. They (at the time) were so different and no one sounded like them.

Perhaps because "older people" (what's the criteria, being able to buy beer?) grew up listening to it.
Oh, that and they changed the face of modern rock as we know it.
