Great question!
You do what you need to do to protect your family. "Parents" have more knowledge on what to do so if the "kids" have a different opinion they should listen, and do what THEY know is right and best.
"Kids" always want their way and hate their "parents" when the parents won't give them their way. GWB is being a good parent to this nation. He is not governing by polls and he is doing what's best for us based on the information he has!

I would do what I would have to do. On the other hand, if I kept telling them they were in danger, and making up dangers, in order to control them, and started opening my children's mail to make sure they were not cooperating with the boogey-man, and refused to let friends come into the house without a strict control on my part, and started spending a fortune on new locks for the doors, then decided I should start throwing rocks at the neighbour's windows in order to warn them away, well, I would hope my family would have me locked up somewhere safe where I could not do anyone any harm.
- Especially if I lied to my family, saying that there were some evil people in a certain house down the street that were planning to kill us, and brought them to attack that house, then they found out I was just pulling their legs so I could have more control over them ... well, I suppose I would be locked away for a long, long time.

It would be an extremely confusing situation, because I know what my "human" reaction is. But by nature, I can have very, . . . . violent tendences . . . before becoming a Christian. But I realize that my family is not the most important thing to me, and I am not the most important thing to my family. The most important thing to me, is my relationship with God. We love each other dearly, and after our dedication to God, we love each other with every fiber of our being. But our first obligation is to God's commandments. My first response, would be to do what Proverbs states and teaches: "The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe." - Proverbs 18:10. I would pray, out loud, to him for help; using his personal name. There are many real life examples, where miraculous occerences happened when a person understands that the name of God, Yahweh, or "Jehovah" in English is not a magical charm, but when it is cried aloud as a desire to know him as a person, as a safe refuge, and in the desire for more accurate knowledge so you can have a relationship with him? Then the righteous are protected from harm. The unrighteous try to use his name like a "magic charm", and well, the scripture did say who exactly would be protected. I know, I experienced one first hand. The violent attacker in the middle of chocking the life out, simply stopped by the time I got out: "Please, help me to stay obedient Jehovah". I mean, BY THE TIME THE "H" was at the end of my tounge. Turned around. And walked away. Don't ask me to explain it, because I can't, other than what is in that verse. I didn't ask to take the problem away. Thankfully however, that must have been the answer that time.

Clear and present danger to my family's life.....I do anything and everything within my power to prevent it. Danger to my way of life? Well, you'll have to be more specific....the invention of cars ended a way of life for everyone. I wouldn't have done much about that but adjust.

I would suggest that you talk to someone who has the skills to listen, and discern what needs to be done to rid the problem. We must also, always remember their is consequences for the things that we do. Get another persons opinion and talk about your issue up front, to gain the resolve you need and want.

It is my ultimate duty to my family to protect them...
If the underlying question would be are the U.N. war in Iraq and U.S. war against terrorism justified, I would say yes.
Ignoring a threat will never make it go away.

Of course I'd fight to protect them. I'm not so sure about the liberals any more. I used to think they'd fight to protect all of that, too, but now I'm thinking they might just do whatever they were told so they wouldn't have to do anything more than give them a hug with their fingers crossed behind their backs.

Like would I have assassinated Hitler? You bet! But there's no one on the current scene anywhere near that bad. We've had bad presidents before, and we've always survived. We'll survive the current crop too.

These are the questions I ask myself every day when I think about what the Republicans have done to this country...
...luckily, there's still a nonviolent solution to that problem.
Of course, that's why my side won the last election cycle... and will win the next one, too.
