If African Americans have a month to celebrate their struggles and aclompishments, and so do Hispanics, then why don't Caucasions? They're are all-black girl schools, but if whites did that, then they would be called racist. White people from Europe have overcome many things to, like racism against them just because they are Irish or Romanian, etc. When Immigrants came to America, most were white. But do Caucasions have a month to celebrate what they've overcome? NO! Why is that?

And yes, there are all-black schools on Earth. Also, whenever white people make an acheivement, its viewed as "okayl". But when Blacks or Latinos make an acheivement of the same level, they practically become celebrities.

Nah One month isn't near long enough and lets face it the list of things white men have done would be so long compared to anyone else it would just look as if we are bragging.

That's right Meghan. You should watch what you say. If you can't handle the result of the BS you're typing, then don't post it. I have nothing better to do while I'm on than to read a response from some person. If you continue to read the questions they've answered in the culture sections you see that their response to racist questions are more racist answers. Go educate yourself and find your own views and opinions rather than giving the same trash over and over. Now, since someone has responded to your stupidity you're realizing that it's not worth it after answers 5 million questions and insulting people? Give me a break. What a revelation? And to answer your question ... to the person asking this question ... why don't you go back and ask those that created Black History month that question? Then, after you do that, why don't you address your local congressmen about reverting back to old laws where blacks don't have any rights. It seems that would be about the best thing for you and Meghan to do since things like this bother you so much.
Also, I'd like to add to the person that commented about "Whitey". If "Whitey" had not contributed to such and such, you're a fool. Take responsibility for yourself, you go create something or help with something, then you can accept praise for it. Until then, you're just another nameless, faceless, racist answerer on Yahoo. You have accomplished nothing, obviously because you're on here ranting and raving about what "your" people have done. What have you done to help? You don't have anything to do with the race that you are, you have your parents to thank, but with your attitude, I doubt that they've been any help toward your attitude. Most of the people in here taking sides and dishing out the hatred need reality checks. Look at yourselves before you go start judging other people. Black history month is designated to praise successful blacks in history. Does it hurt you that it's black history month? We don't get any special treatment for it, just so you know. Black achievement awards are just like honorable mentions that people receive in the newspaper, they are stupid because it is like pointing out each time you've succeeded and when you don't receive them, it's like you suck, why don't you keep your grades up so you can get more? But I don't think that's the basis of this question...or the topic that people bring up on this web site everyday. This is another reason for someone to be ignorant and try to degrade black people. Black history month isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I guess they must have said that about slavery too huh? So I might be wrong. Idiots.

Cuz white people were never enslaved, we enslaved them!! Do u even know how much crap the blacks had to overcome just to get an ounce of respect in this country?? Appearantly not. And if that whole black history month thing really bothers u, keep in mind that it's the shortest month of the year. However i do think that blacks could be a lil more appreciative of how many men had to die to free them in the civil war, and latinos in my opinion don't have much to complain about neither. And also..... ALL the celebrities that suck the life out of this country can suck my ballz!

Like others have said, we pretty much do learn about white history every day in school. I personally don't like blacks or any minorities getting special recognition when they accomplish something. It always annoyed me when I got some stupid trophy and invitation to an award ceremony for minorities that were among the top in their class. In my opinion I learn the same way as everyone else and it's annoying for people to think oh you're black, so there has to be something special going on for you to be doing so well.

yes, an all white school or organization would be considered racist. doesnt make much sense does it? but being an average white american and life is pretty much a struggle anyway, i dont have time to give a big rat's rectum if i get a month set aside for celebration of everyday living. just being alive and getting through another day is celebration enuff.

I wasn't informed, if your talking about 4th of July, that's Mexican stuff and I'm not Mexican and have no idea what the heck they celebrate that day.

This question is trying to break the record for the most inane answers in history. C'mon! All you hear about in class is White American history, but Whites have no history to celebrate. White people have done nothing but rape and pillage.....For cryin' out loud, get your heads out of your asses! Black history month is just a pacifier to make those that have not contributed much to society in this country feel good about themselves. Its O. K. to feel good about who you are, but lying about such contributions and embellishing history to to the point of lying does not change your past. And please, if any of you think "Whitey" hasn't done anything to advance civilization, go visit any area of Africa that has not been touched by White hands and report back here ASAP.

Caucasians don't need special shows, special schools, or special months. They already have these things, that is the reason why other races are starting to get them. Everyone who goes to school knows about the accomplishments of Caucasians, it's called American History.
Oh, and for the record, all races built their own civilizations, this isn't something only Caucasians did. Every race has accomplished something beautiful and wonderful.

Many people in the community believe that White History Month is "every month except those denoted for other races".
I admit this is a little "preferential", but you do need to understand that Caucasians are still the majority, and always have been. We live in a white culture, and study the American History of the White Man.
Since you're very sensitive about this topic, I'm assuming you're still in High school, or maybe Middle School. Truth is, once you become an adult, no one really pays any attention to these "special" months.
I attend one of the most liberal schools in the country (UC Berkeley) and I totally forgot it was Black History Month until you mentioned it!
In the mean time. Embrace it! Enjoy it! There's a lot to learn, lots of interesting people who you would have probably never heard of if it weren't for the "equalization" process.

To whomever said, an all black school would let a white girl, let me just say "Are you Kidding me?"
I think that we all need to take a break from asking these types of questions, because they are not being solved they are just creating more BS. I agree with what you are saying, but you are making a lot of people mad, and they have nothing better to do than read thru your answers, and report you for everything you say. So be careful because there a lot of people on here that just want to be controversial.
