Common law would still apply, but other things, like not being afraid to say things, or dress a certain way, without being criticized by others or worrying what they think. You could finally express your love for your friend who you've liked for so long, or wear a rain poncho with slippers if you wanted to.

(I know I got this idea from an episode of the Simpsons.)

But, I always thought it was kind of a cool idea. What do you think?

heck ya. I think that would be great b/c everyone probably feels the same way.. that they are never going to fit in w/the cool crowd or that they are being put under a"microscope" always getting judged for no reason and gotta watch what you say or do or if you want to tell someone you love and care about that you want to be with them forever but you too scard or worried that they might not feel the same way even tho you know each other for years and feel like you inlove w. 'em.. so yea i wish it really was a day you can do that

No, not really. Mainly because everyone would have so many things on their list that they would not be able to accomplish everything that they wanted. And not to mention they they wouold get so scatterbrained trying to figure out what was the most important. Then towards the end of the day there would be so many people fighting and arguing to get to their last destination that there would be accidents and injuries.
Then if they didnt accomplish what they wanted for this year, they will say I will do it next year. Well, they would totally forget what it was that they wanted to do the previos year.
I don't think that would be that great. Too stressful, because you are in such a hurry. You only have 24 hrs.
Initial thought is awesome, but you really have to think abou thow people would act in the long run.
Think about how people act on the "Day after Thanksgiving Sale"? It's mere insanity.

Since you said common law would still apply, I think it sounds (is) great. It's not really a new idea though, it's called "Early Retirement" - after you retire you'll know what I mean!. hehe
