The above answer is not entirely correct. You actually want to count BACK 14 days from the first day of your next expected period, that is when you should be ovulating. An easier way of achieving this is by going to www.babycenter.com and using their ovulation calculator, it will let you know when your most fertile days are. I also suggest giving an ovulation predictor kit a try. They can pinpoint pretty accurately when you are ovulating and therefore improve your chances of having sex on the right days. If you want to splurge you should give the clear blue easy fertility monitor a try. It is expensive but extremely accurate and will give you a lot of important information about when to try.
You can also determine when you are ovulating by monitoring your cervical mucous and cervix. Two days before you start ovulating you will notice mucous that has the texture of egg whites. It will string if you stretch it between your fingers. Checking your cervix is also easy. Make sure you are in the same position every time you check. Insert one or two fingers and feel for a knob type thing towards the back of your vagina, this is your cervix. When you are ovulating it will be pulled back and hard to reach. It will feel soft kind of like touching your lips. When you are not ovulating it will be lower down and easy to reach. It will feel firm like the tip of your nose.
I hope this helps, good luck and baby dust!!

Ok her try this website. it will explain it all and its free for about 3 months. www.fertilityfriend.com . they chart everything for you, all you have to do is check your temp every morning same time. and keep an eye on your cervical mucous. again they will explain it for you. and if you have any questions, they are there to answer. ive been using them to chart my ovulation adate and now have it down to a science. and not everyone ovulates 14 days after or before the start of you next cycle. everyone is different, some women ovulate on day 8 and some on day 26 or even more. it depends on your cycle and your cyle alone. good luck hope this helps.

well you need to start charting your cycles and if you have a normal 28 day cycle you will ovulate 14 days after the first day of your last period this 14 days isnt exact but it will be around that time i have noticed that watching your cervical mucus is the best way when it gets egg white look and strechy between your fingers it is time try a few days before and after you are expecting ovulation because the sperm can live up to 5 days hope this helps and good luck to you

My Dr. told my husband and I to have sex once a day, every-other-day. You have a 24 hour window of time to conceive during the month and sperm take about 2 days to do the traveling to the egg. Having sex every-other-day will ensure you have the highest chance of getting pregnant. If you do it more than that his sperm count will drop.

Also do not stress...it takes much longer to conceive if you are stressed. Start taking your pre-natal vitamins now so your body will have what it needs for the baby once you conceive. You can buy them at Target for $6.99 for a bottle of 200.

Good luck!!

P.S. My husband and I took her advice and had sex once a day every-other-day and it took 3 months to conceive.
