when you get a naruto epesiode 220 they say something about fillers what is a filler

A filler is an episode that is sort of to the side. It doesn't contribute anything to the main plot. I kind of like Naruto, but I haven't gotten that far... basically, episodes where Naruto, Sakura and Saske (at the beginning anyway) aren't fighting, on missions or working are filler episodes. Usually, these episodes are less serious and very funny. Episode 101 is my favorite filler.
