you can't change the past, but you can work towards your future. move on, learn from you mistakes but don't dwell on the past.
is this person worth it to keep in your life? what if they didn't learn and it happens again?

Forgiving somone that has cheated and lied about it is the hardest thing anyone can do,at least thats my belief and even after you forgive there is no such thing as forgetting how much the person you loved more than anything, could tear your heart out . If you still have to worry about trusting them you are heading for more heart ache until you can move on and get over this person, and I think you alredy know that.

You forgive them because you need to be able to move on. I don't think you should forget though. When you forget is when history repeats itself so it's in your best interest to remember so you can prevent it from happening again with the same person or with someone else.
Forgiving isn't easy and it takes time. I think when you can remember the good parts of that person or times you had with them without being consumed by the negative things they've done then you are on the road to forgiveness.
Good Luck!

I'm not a big fan of "forgiveness" unless the person is truely sorry and asking for your forgiveness BUT you should try to forget and the best way to do that is to just get on with your life. Keep busy, try to do things that you enjoy as often as possible.

Your boyfriend or husband cheated. And you want to forgive, but it's hard to trust him now. Well, personally I have never not forgiven anybody, BUT just because i forgive does not mean I ever forget. I would never give a cheating woman another chance, I just don't care enough to. No woman is worth the corruption of my beliefs and integrity. I can go out there and get another woman and I will never let my emotions and feelings control me like that. Be strong and move on if you have the courage to. Men do things like this because they know they can get away with it, they take advantage of a woman's kindness, but you don't need to surround yourself with people like that unless you like pain.

you forgive by not harding your heart. it's hard, forgiving people that have caused you so much detress. you can forgive them, but that doesnt mean you'll forget. you just have to watch out for people who caused you all your hurt, and remember, that they're some people who you can trust. i feel your pain, i've been through some trust issues too, people can just be so MEAN sometimes...... good luck. i can tell your a really nice person. sometimes, people try to take atvantage of that. again, good luck.

Time. Not to seem cliche but for me personally I forgive but never forget, and I find it's easier to forgive a little ways down the road versus when little time has passed and the "wound" is fresh.

Forgiveness seperates YOU from the person that erred you, it does'nt seperate THEM from their KARMA! To forget, or more specifically, to turn something into a memory,- because thought is nothing more than a stream of pictures, you have to confront the pictures in their totality, this then turns a painful event into nothing more then a memory.

Well, the HOW is unique to each individual. If you don't forgive, however, what you get is:
Loss of control
Loss of energy
Emotional baggage
etc., etc.
If you forgive and move on you get:
Your power back
Emotional strength
Confidence
Trust in humanity

You forgive for your own sake and sanity... The bible says forgive
as we are forgiven...It does not say forget...To forget, is to open
oneself again, to the same pain we have already suffered.
