I see the hang/shoot/castrate-'em lobby are out in force on this one...

Paedophilia is a mental disorder, in many cases affecting people who were themselves abused as children.

Pederasty is the act of sexually assaulting or raping a minor.

People who suffer from the former should be treated before they commit the latter. Do not confuse this for pardoning the acts of child sex offenders. They commit terrible acts on a vulnerable part of society and this is unacceptable. But just locking up paedophiles (as well as drug addicts and other mentally ill people) in prisons rather than working to treat them is harmful as well as costly and does nothing to cure people who are mentally unwell and could be rehabilitated.

Oh, sure, a stairwell shivving might ensure they never offend again, but the law of the jungle is no law at all.

A more astute poster noted the possibility of psychotherapy, this is certainly a good start but the key, I feel, is more rigorous background checks in positions where people are in contact through their work with the vulnerable, be that children, the elderly, and those who are either mentally and physically ill.

There have been too many cases where known pederasts have got jobs working around children, as well as cases of terrible abuse in care homes for the elderly or mentally ill patients, and in many cases a repeat offender has slipped through the cracks because authorities don't share databases.

The result of which is that if you molest a kid in one part of the country, get caught, survive jail (nonce bashing is a popular pastime in the general population of British prisons) and get out, there's a good chance you can get a janitorial job at a school a few counties away.

Cases of government incompetence like this cause witch-hunts, making paedophiles less likely to seek help, thus more likely to offend.

Aside from actual brain surgery which will effectively destroy a large amount of their personality and therefore more or less "kill" them as a person then no.
It's not a virus or a contagion that can be treated like flu or tetanus. It's a major part of their mindset and personality. It can be treated through psychotherapy over the course of years of treatments. These people belong in mental institutions to be treated rather than being put in normal prisons where the isolation will just make them worse.

someone, not me, once made an commentary that detention center conversions were about as actual as copies of a love letter. it quite is authentic that some are sturdy fakers, interior as well as outdoors the detention center. it quite is likewise authentic that some human beings quite stumble on their owing to God, the authentic and the residing God of the Bible, and Jesus Christ His Son, in detention center, by potential of diverse ministries. there is, or a minimum of become once, a business enterprise headed by technique of utilising "Chaplain Ray" in Dallas, Texas, that shared the gospel with inmates. detention center Fellowship is yet another such crew. The Gideons have grownup men who bypass to prisons and meet with the inmates. an spectacular type of prisons have chaplains on crew. Having said all of that, I doubt that any man or woman who has quite depended on Christ as Savior may pull strings or something else to get certain treatment or an early launch. I used to artwork with a guy who did time for drugs. inspite of if he become a Christian or not is a moot ingredient--he did not ask for any certain favors and nonetheless made his appointments, a week, with a parole board something-or-diverse (I ignore with regard to the perceive). He knew he did incorrect, and did the time, and optimal critically found now to not do it back. Now if the end results of a actual conversion is a replaced existence, and a particular body of innovations, consistent through the years, and if the parole board determines this inmate should be launched, it really is an complete diverse ingredient than taking area in a pastime.

I don`t think there is a medicine being used well not that i know of anyway and personally i don`t see it as a sickness at all it`s a choice and a dirty evil one at that and thay should all be shot.I`m not usually a violent kind of person but these monsters just make me sick.

Yes if there ever is one then yes it should be given wether they want it or not they don`t deserve a choice same way the children didn`t have a choice in what happened to them.

There is no pill, for that matter there is no effective treatment or therapy of any kind and today's victims are tomorrows perpetrators. I have seen so many sexually abused kids turn around and start victimizing younger weaker children(I have seen kid "perps" as young as 4) and there isn't much that can be done to undo the damage.

I was molested as a seven year old, they should be given the option of having the sexually drive part of their brains removed then released from jail with very good observation.for years.or they should be given the death penalty for raping children,as the South Carolina legislators or putting thru the State house soon.I hope, if they just touch children. then twenty years as least.should be their sentence.no .I've never heard of a pill.a pill is to good for them, killem is my suggestion.

no there isnt ,only being put on protection and away from the other prisoners, the only medicine is to let the victims parents be locked in a room with the sicko, let them cut his genetalia off and knock seven bells of **** out of him,and whatever else they want to do,until he's begging to die, then hang him in a long and painful death and make him suffer, like the poor victims have got to suffer for the rest of their lifes, paedo's dont need help, they need castrating!!!!!!!!
