For starters, they implemented christianity as the only religion allowed, so the native americans were forced to give up their beliefs, also, they taught them to speak spanish. They also introduced currency, but this has a lot do with why they forced them to become slaves.

European diseases killed many native Americans. Wars, slavery, murder, did in many others. The Europeans just wanted the gold and silver.

Genocide, Enslavement, Rape, Pillage, Disease, FORCED into Christianity or executed, Temples Looted and Destroyed, along with their Cities and their way of life... All in the name of Christianity... not ot mention the damage they did in their searches for precious minerals and gems (gold, silver, jade,...) I can go on...
