I would recomend Maxcell (recontained interstate), or Interstate. I have had the best luck with these, and I personally use Maxcell at my shop, and have have very few problems with them, and the problems I have had have been caused by outside causes, alternators dieing after AVR test, belt breaking, broken wires, ect. My barage usually sells about 5-10 batteries every few days and have maybe 5-10 comebacks per year. No matter how good a product is, there is always going to a bad one in a batch. Just make sure you have an AVR test preformed to check the charging system out before installing a new battery, a new battery will be inneffective if the charging system isn't charging.

there are basically two company's that make batteries they are all sticker engineered. I personally perfer interstate as far as brand and warranty. As far as type get the correct size for your car many people assume that they should get a bigger battery(higher cold cranking amps) that is not necessarily the case for a given battery size to increase the cold cranking amps you must lower the reserve capacity.
Reserve capacity is the amount of time that the battery can be discharged. and it is far more use full to have a battery that can discharge over time then a battery that can put out burst of power.
As the first person said optima is a great battery but is not what you need for a standard vehicle now if you have a very loud stereo (more then two 12") you may want to consider one.

The idea is to get the one that fits it most batterys are made to a certain standard so they are very much the same only with different stickers on them, but dont go for the pencil post type if you are running electric windows etc, have it modified to take a larger capacity battery as it will last you a lot longer
