Is there a programmer that can remove the speed governor from my truck?

If so, where can I get it and how much does it cost?

Note: Not needing it for performance. I just want it to remove the speed governor. That's all.

Hypertech and SuperChips both perform well.
Both will allow you several "Tuner" options including defeating both the SPEED limiter and REV limiter.
You can reprogram for tire size, transmission shift points, horsepower, torque and / or fuel economy.
The tuners will do harm to the computer, and if you choose at a later time you can revert to the factory programming.
The tuner will be "married" to your PCM and will never function with any other.
All are available at most speed web sites for < $450.00.

When this reprogramming is done, it is all perfectly legal in all states.
BUT in the event of a collision, even if it is clearly not your fault, many slimy lawyers can make a pretty effective and successful case for negligence on YOUR part because YOU chose to defeat factory and manufacturer's engineering limits.
This is not to say that you should be considered a miscreant for this option, but you could be liable in civil court. (Remember the lady who spilled her own coffee from McDonald's, and then sued and won because the coffee was too hot?)

You shouldn't remove the speed governor, it will mess everything up on the engine, that is controlled by the computer. They cost a lot of money to replace.

usually yes there for most vehicles. i would check www.truckperformance.com and you can put in the specific year and engine and it will tell you what is available. most are in the $400 range give or take.
