Majors & Minors?

Question

How many Majors can someone have? How many Minors.
I want to Major in Liberal Arts but also in History and Minor in Anthropology. But how many Majors/Minors is good?

Good Question! On average a person will have only one major. Many universities will allow you to pursue a dual major if you choose to. A minor is on average a 15 credit collection of classes in one subject area, so you can have as many minor as you choose to have. Many universities only offer specializations of Liberal Arts, such as history, and do not have a "liberal arts degree. Counting core classes (history/anthropology) and "culture" classes, you are looking at aprox 89 credits, or about 29 classes. As far as how many majors/minors are good, that is something you will have to decide for yourself. Just keep in mind how much time you have, the fact that you will change your mind at least once, and Liberal Arts degress arn't payed that well. Good Luck

most people have 1 major. some people have 1 major and 1 minor. others have 2 majors. technically you can major in as many disciplines as you'd like, but if it takes more than 4 years then you'll have to keep paying after you are able to graduate. in general, it's probably difficult to successfully complete more than 2 majors and a minor in 4 years, and even then you will have to manage your schedule carefully and won't be able to take many classes that fall outside of one of these focus areas

You can probably have as many of both as you want, but it will take you FOREVER to get through school. Do you want to be in school for the normal 4 or 5 years, or for a decade?

I think you can only have a double major but I am not sure about minors.
