I can sympathize with you!!
We live in the country and the stars are so vivid at night--that is until we got a new neighbor.
They are about a block away from us (the closest house), city folk (LOL) not real friendly but pleasant when they stopped by to introduce themselves. They mentioned how dark it is at night due to no streetlights out here.
The next week IT LOOKED LIKE AN AIRPORT!!! I'm not kidding.
Their driveway is curved into a semi circle shape and they lined it with lights on both sides and kept the lights on all night!
After about a month we took them a "welcome to the neighborhood" cake. We were invited in and eventually the subject of their yard lights came up.
End result: They took out about 1/2 of the lights so it is not so jarring anymore and they shut them off about 9:00 at night.
Hopefully you can talk to some of your neighbors and they will co-operate with you too!
Good luck and happy star gazing

i've got by no potential concept approximately this, yet you elevate an enticing element . . . probability is, she merely rather has the Christmas spirit, and hasn't even concept approximately how undesirable it seems. you may bypass to her, confirm you're calm, and top clarify to her that she's no longer protecting up together with her dedication. she would be in a position to in all probability be embarassed, consistent with probability even somewhat shielding, yet assure her which you be attentive to it replaced into an outstanding mistake. Then tell her that for the time of all probability the main suitable answer could be to have a small show which you turn off different than whilst it gets dark, and then turn it off in the previous you bypass to mattress. Or pass the lighting fixtures furniture altogether.

I have sensor lights, mainly because of people in the area.
if they come up near the car.
Its more so if i hear something and look out my window i would be able to see them, then do something about it like call the cops..
or shoo away the neighbours cat.
i wouldn't take offence to pointing them down if they offended my neighbour across the road. although with plants and trees i dont think it bothers them.. and they would come across and tell me if it did. they are nice people.

I think people leave the outside lights on to help deter burglaries in their homes. But I certainly understand your point. If you explain to your neighbors in a very polite manner they may very well agree to turn them off at night. Or maybe they could get a very low wattage replacement bulb.

i would suggest going to the neighbour if you are on friendly terms and make a joke like "think the martains see your lights from space" or something like that to break the ice and just ask them if they have noticed how bright they are. if you arent rude and your neighbours arent idiots then they should do something..if not get a pellet gun lol
