a.oxygen diffuse from the lung cells into hemoglobin.
b.sodium ions diffuse through cells. (i am not sure abt this one.)

some examples would be:

Oxygen is diffusing into red blood cells in the lungs, while Carbon dioxide is diffusing out of red blood cells at teh same time.

Steroid hormones will diffuse into cells and alter gene expression. (other hormones are transported by the bloodstream and thus do not count as purely diffusion)

Na+ ions will not diffuse into cells because ions cannot cross a membrane, unless there are Na+ channels. Diffusion of Na+ is highly important in the nervous system, because the action potential occurs when Na+ diffuses into neurons when voltage-gated Na+ channels open. Also, muscles are stimulated to contract when Ca2+ ions diffuse into the cytoplasmic. Neurotransmitters also diffuse across synapses, e.g. acetylcholine diffuses between the neuron and the muscle cells, binds with recepters, and induces contraction through the method i just mentioned.
