IMO, it should be a quick mission.. pulverize all nuclear facilities, get out. Set them back 5-10 years.

I think at this point it would be a big mistake, our military is overstretched, we're still bogged down Mess-o-potamia and A fganistan still rather precarious with the Taliban on the offensive again whom we can't completely suppress, so Iran would be a mistake, their facilities a well buried and we couldn't for sure get them all, in the process we 'd kill untold innocents, succeed in blowing up the whole region against, unleash Iranian terrorism world wide but especially in Iraq against us that would pale whatever they have contributed in Iraq so far, and turn a whole gneration of younger Iranians against us as they'd rally around their flag and country even if they don't like their government, a generation that craves to open up and engage the West and U.S., so it wouldn't accomplish much and the repercussions and blow back would be very self-harming and damaging, but knowing Cheney he'll con Bush into doing it before they leave office, pretty scary.

US attacking Iran won't involve only those two countries...many more would get involved into this conflict,which eventually will lead to another world war...
So I hope no one is next...Bush should see how he can solve the Iraqi mess and then thinking about what other countries he can attack...

He's pushing Iran, because he can slide on into Iran & the American people will forget what he has done in Iraq!

If it becomes apparent that they are close to a nuclear weapon. We bomb them. They say that they want it (nuclear technology) for energy purposes. But the country is practically floating on oil, so I dont believe that even a little.

in order to sustain the level of troops we would further need more boots on the ground, plan B would require the release n transfer of all U.S. federal inmates to iranian soil.
