he was suppose to carry me on ins. but did not. I had to have surgery and now I have a stack of bills that need to be paid. He said he can't pay because he has no job or money. he did ask if he could call the credit collection agencies and hospital and tell them he is responsible for them. So they quit harassing me and put the bills in his name, etc......is this possible? before I have to spend more money on another lawyer and go back to court?

if your name are on the bills then you are responsible. the only way that he will be responsible for paying is if there was some sort of signed legal document between you two stating that he would pay. as it stands...you went by word of mouth. next time...get your own insurance and handle your own medical expenses. dont' ever totally rely on a man (not that they are all bad) but you take a chance by totally depending on someone else to handle things for you because you are at their mercy and not your own. find a way to gain your independence and start looking for work (if you are able to). something that can at least start they paying process so that the interest that is accuring on your medical bills can come to a stop.

why not give legal aid a try? I'm sure there is one near you. they can help if you are low income and that way your X can and will pay those bills.
for one thing --he has to be supporting himself some how. he probably just doesn't want to live up to his obligations.
and second--if you go to court they can take his income taxes to pay your bills. the way he wants to do it those bills probably won't get paid and you could end up in a lot of debt and not even know it.

I dont feel that he is since you are divorced now and were the bills in his name or yours? If the bills were in his name he is responsible BUT if they were in your name then you are responsible to pay them. A lawyer can help you more on this issue.

probable, on the time the medical therapy became accomplished, he signed because of the fact the in charge individual. If the divorce decree exact she is in charge for paying those expenditures, then they are hers, if no longer, he continues to be in charge. there's no longer statute of limitations on a debt. you're able to be able to make very minimum funds to the well-being middle.

Get your own job and medical insurance. Why should he have to take care of you. You sound lazy and dependant on someone who is not responsible for you.
