Key phrase: "if you had the choice."

All governments extort money from its citizenry through force for the sole purpose of bloating its size. (while at the same time giving you the illusion that you had a choice)

Only if we passed a law that those who did had to drive cross country off-road, off public land, could not use any tax paid-for facility, and could not work for any business subsidized with taxes.

Wouldn't want them stealing from the rest of us that DO pay taxes, would we?

I love tax breaks, but some people have no idea what taxes are actually used for. Still, keep speaking up. Good question.

No. Regardless of whether or not I'm in favor of a decision made by the government, I'm still bound to it's decisions. I Choose to remain a citizen here, and am protected by all the benefits of being a citizen here.

When we pay our taxes, we're not just paying for single decisions, we're paying for the organization required for us to maintain our way of life.

It's an "All or Nothing" kind of deal. If everyone decided to only pay taxes that amounted to what we each thought was appropriate, we'd be the most underfunded, unprotected, dysfunctional place on the planet.

Eh...it depends. The government has done a lot to help, but they've also done a lot to hurt...I suppose it all evens out. If we didn't pay any money to the government, it probably wouldn't exist. Unless people were to just volunteer as leaders in our country, it'd be flat out anarchy, and that's something I'm willing to pay for in order to prevent. lol.

Yes.

ANY chance to suck some of it back is worth the effort.

I'd certainly want to take the money back that is linked to misappropriation and scandals.

I'd like my money back that was spent on the "war" - Bush and his minions should have to pay for that disaster.

There would be no government if that were the case. I'd withold mine because of Planned Parenthood subsidies, you'd withold yours for some other reason, and in the end, the Treasury would have about $1.50 in it.
