I would do the right thing, take it to the police and tell them I found a wallet containing 7 grand.

Look in the wallet and see who it belonged to. It's not my money it's theirs. Karma will reward you with more than 10 grand

I'd turn it over to the police. YES, I'd do that!!! The money could have been obtained by fraud, robbery or any other sinister means. For all you know, those bills could be 'marked'. It's not your money to keep, so it's better off in the hands of the authorities. If there is no rightful owner, the money will be given to you.

Return the wallet, minus my finder's fee, of course. Then have a sweet rendezvous with a certain woman

As much as I would love to return it, I would have to be honest here unlike the others, and say that I would probably keep the money. I would probably donate a few grand to charity though to try to pay for my sin. The people who say they would return it have already sinned before anything even started by lying.
Good Question though!

Most likely I would keep it. More than likely someone carrying that much cash obtained it illegally anyway and they are not likely to report it to the police that his drug money was lost or stolen. However there could be reasons that I would return it. Just being honest.

Pick it up with a forklift - that much cash is *heavy* - and turn it in to the nearest police station - without leaving my name or any other contact information.

If it didn't have any identification in it I would keep it. Why hand it over to the police? If it did have an ID I would give it back. I feel way too guilty. Hopefully they would give me a reward.
