I know this is a silly questions, but I remember people doing it ten years ago or more and I can not remember why? It was when you got a new pack, you took one and turned it upside down and i think that was the last one you smoked or something. I dont know.

When I was a teenager it was your lucky smoke. There used to be a number under the lid of the smoke packet and you would count the smokes and when you got to whatever number was under the lid you would turn it upside down and that would be your lucky smoke. Pretty stupid really.

We called it a wish stick. It would be the last one you smoked and you made a wish when you lit it. Hey, we were young.
Incidentally, my dad got a cig out of my pack, the wish stick, and lit it backwards. I never had a wish stick again. He was upset!
