Who cares who was the most inspirational?! All I care about is good music. Music that makes you want to scream (sing) to the heavens.....or hell if your into that kind of music. My favorite band is System of a Down because my next favorite is The Doors. To me, I classify System's music as "fun music". They make "social commentary" in some songs and others are just so crazily worded that I cant stop singing along, thrashing around in my car, banging my head, tapping my foot, etc etc. Just to give you an idea I also like 2-Pac (before he errr..died and then kept selling albums), Bone Thugs and Harmony, Eminem, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash.....wait thats my answer to your question.....JOHNNY CASH. And no I didnt see the movie. He made music until the day he died. nuff said?

This is a trick question, right? Because there are NO influential rock stars in the last 20 years. You're gonna have to go a helluva lot farther back than that to find anyone worth listening to! As far as I'm concerned, rock has been goin' to hell ever since Buddy Holly died!

Eddie Vedder.

You see countless Pearl Jam rip offs these days. While Cobain was influential, Vedder has endured through over 15 years of performing and recording, and I think it's important that he'll continue to influence people today.

Sorry, but I think "texasjewboy12" is absolutely right, you have to go a further back if you want to talk about most influential.

Milli Vanilli, hands down.
Because of them:
1. Singers at concerts don't lip-synch; they have to sing
2. The artists listed on an album are the artists who actually performed the music.
