I satarted with Mozilla a few years ago when the security on Internet Explorer was poor. But now IE security is better. Is it still worth sticking with Mozilla?

I would use firefox 2 over IE7 for many reasons not just security.

Yes it is more secure, but it also renders pages more quickly, although it does take a little longer to load in the first place.

It is fully standards compliant. When websites do not work properly it is often due to poor coding, or being optimised for IE.. that is to say they are not standards compliant either. Or they use active x scripting which is not supported by firefox unless you instal it manually due to the security issues around active x.

It is far more customisable via the themes and extensions, meaning it can be set up just the way you want it, to a degree IE users can only dream of.

It is free, it is updated regularly, there is a large community for support at mozillazine, the list goes on.

However If you do find firefox is not for you, and some people do, then opera is well worth a look also.

Yes, Mozilla is still more secure, because it uses a harder scripting code. This means it is harder for hackers and viruses to spread because the code is so complicated. Mozilla will give you the best protection from harmful things on the internet. Internet Explorer is safe, but is very easy to hack and make things that you think are real become fake and harm your computer.
Keep Mozilla

Stay with Mozilla or Firefox! Internet Explorer problems have gotten much worse, not better.

Any improvement in I E is because they are copying features from Mozilla. Stick with Mozilla - it runs faster and is still more secure.

If you've ever tried to use IE7 you wouldn't have used 10 points to post this question. Stick with Mozilla Firefox - you must have learnt to keep away from Microsoft products by now!

you can't open some web pages with Mozilla, I.E is pretty secure as long as you have all the appropriate security settings, and antispyware + anti-virus programs, and of course you have to use your common sense, so I will continue to take my chances with I.E
