Religion has asserted itself into the rhetoric of the two sides over the years, but at its core the issue is real estate. The Jews believe they are taking back land that was rightfully theirs and the palestinians believe the Jews stole it. The big question is how to reconcile these two mutually exclusive views into an acceptable compromise.

Yes. All Muslims want the Jewish people either dead or out of Israel. Preferably dead!
But aside from the religion issue, Palestine wants the land of Israel. They claim it belongs to them. It doesn't, When the British left Palestine on May 14, 1948, the state of Israel was proclaimed the same day. On May 15, 1948 war started between Israel & the Arab league. UN mediation achieved an armistice, giving the land to Israel. There has been fighting since.

Yes. It is becoming even more so all the time. Originally, the terror groups mostly had a marxist ideology, now most are islamist like Hamas & Hesb'allah. Go to imra web site (I think it's .org but I'm not positive). They have English translations of what Arab clerics, journalists & leaders are saying in Arabic. It should scare everyone in the non Muslim world.

It is religious and ethnic, many Israeli Jews are genetically very closely related to Palestinians. It is a family squabble.

Only on one side. Muslims want you either praying to the east or dead. There is no acceptable third way for them.
Israel, on the other hand, has Muslim members of the Knesset, and as of last week, a Muslim cabinet minister.

Only halfway.
The Arabs fight Israel because the people are Jews.
The Jews fight the Arabs in order to stay alive.
