The most interesting animal on this planet would have to be MAN, Yep we are the most interesting, We are all different, color, beliefs, languages, temperment etc. Humans cant be trusted, you never know what they are going to do next, we all eat different foods, drink different things even have sex with the same gender, tell me another animal that has all these attributes? At least with a Lion, elephant, crocodile, dog or even a cat you know what they can do, what they eat, what they drink, who to trust and who not to. So I would have to say thay us humans are the most interesting animals out there, why do u think "Big Brother" rates so well? because people love watching what we do. Now Ive probably stuffed your whole thought process up havnt I? lol. But u know its true.. Cheerssss

I think that the most interesting animal is the liger. There are real ones. People just mate a lion with a tiger and they get a liger.

If you go to Yahoo Search and type in 'rare animal photos' it will take you to a yahoo website that has a picture of an Okapi, they are really strange and unusual. They might have more, I didnt look very hard. Have fun with your project.

The wolf. It is a highly social animal and your dog is really a wolf; just subjected to a bit of artificial selection. Go here for information.

The most interesting species, to me, would be our immediate Homo sapiens predecessor.
We look like them, but we do not think like them. Our variety of integrated consciousness displaced the earlier variety of humankind about 50,000 years ago.

Some pretty cool candidates:
The pangolin (picture here: http://www.petinfo4u.com/images/pangolin.jpg - yes that's a real picture.)
Praying mantis (awesome photo of one here after having caught a hummingbird: http://www.cynical-c.com/archives/bloggraphics/Mantis_hummingbird.jpg )
Babirusa (picture here:http://www.pbs.org/kratts/world/eurasia/babirousa/images/babirusa.jpg )
Echidna (picture here:http://www.idilium.com/Australian_Wildlife/images/echidna.jpg - this is NOT a hedgehog, it is an egg-laying mammal.)
That should do, probably...
