how do i get over my fear of anesthesia. i have no problem watching others go under, but when it was my turn i started to panic and thoughts start rushing through my head like "what if i don't wake up?" "what if i wake up and can't move?" i started to sob hysterically when i was going to get my tooth removed because i didn't want to go to sleep. but i was fine with the novacane. can anyone help?

Oh know just how you feel, I have the same problem. I had to have surgery a few years back for a severely broken wrist and I seriously considering having a spinal block rather which may have resulted in paralysis. For me its a control issue. Combines with how badly I react to the stuff, which is maybe also heavily influenced by how I hate having anesthesia.

After having to have three major surgeries I resorted to some hypnosis, which lessened my anxiety to a manageable level.

Try to think about that everything will be a memory and nothing hurts forever and nothing joying forever and however things you are a going to pass will be hurting or joying someday it will be a memory and as how bad or good memory it will be you have to pass what are you going to lead you you through this and in any cases it will be a memory better than the memory of being not passed it ..
