I, personally, could spend three hours describing the plot of a good book to someone, but that's just me, and I've never actually met anyone who wants to listen to me go through the plot and characters, etc, for more than fifteen minutes or so.
I suppose normal people (as in, not weirdos), would talk about their plans for their next vacation, valentine's day, they might reminisce for half an hour or so, that sort of thing.

Anything you like - I've been taking lessons from Turkish Kurds. Donkeys in eastern Turkey are legless - they've talked the front legs off not just the hind legs!
No disrespect. Half my family are Turkish Kurds - but boy! can they talk!
On reflection I should like to modify my reply. My first husband and his brother, both Brits from the English Lake District, could pontificate for hours on subjects about which they knew absolutely nothing.

I find I talk the most about subjects I know little about. This is because the more one knows the more you doubt some of the facts of your subject. On that basis I guess I would stagger on for several boring hours with a talk on " A history of Socialist thought"

I've just spent three hours talking to myself... generally about my broadband provider, the weather, how washing and ironing is a neverending task, about the blackbird that hasn't visited for a while, about my car that needs a service and about a holiday that I'm planning. I'm not mad, the 'talking' is all in my head!...

I will also tell you about things you do not know. You may already have known many things in your life, which is so good to know, as this is how I will be able to tell you even more; if for example you know yourself as a person, you will also be able to know me as person, this is like if you know apricots it is easy for you to know peaches. You surely have noticed very well who you are related to, where you belong, what do you have and what you do not have, how you feel when sad, and how do celebrate when happy, you have ideas about what you like and what you dislike, but have you really noticed who you are? You might have had thoughts about this also, but I am sure that you have never known yourself in relation with me. The fact is that every person knows you in his or her own peculiar way. This is why everyone is different from everyone else, and you are special, and I will talk to you about you. This will be a great chance for you to know yourself in yet another way. But when I will talk to you about you I will also be talking about myself in relation to you as an inevitability, I will be knowing myself in your way, and in this sense when I will be talking to you about you, I will be talking about myself, and this is where it get all the more exciting, something very intriguing and yet very subtle to detect. So, if I say you are intelligent, wise, handsome, decent, kind, courteous, consideration, inspirational, charismatic, generous, noble, brave, charming and beautiful, you should know exactly how I mean. I assure you, I can spend a lifetime talking to you about you, would you listen?

I could talk about my family for three hours straight, no problem. Uninterrupted, and on the basis that the audience was allowed to bring a pillow and nod off, yeah -no probs. Other than that, no one topic could hold my interest for three hours...I don't think....hmmm. As far as conversations go, it depends on the person I'm having one with.
