That ballon means that your PC is infected with adware. They want you to buy something that is useless. Use these scans to remove it, both are free.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

i had a tojan virus on my computer that wouldn't go away - i had it looked at by norton security and XoftSpySE, and neither company could get rid of it. someone on Yahoo Answers recommended a free download from a website - www.ewido.net , they have free software called AGV anti-spyware, and also AGV rootkit. to start with, download the AGV anti-spyware, and then switch your computer off. start your computer back up, as soon as it starts, keep tapping the F8 key until it gives u the option to work in safe mode. working in safe mode means that anything u delete will be removed from the hard drive for good. the screen won't look as nice as normal - but that's ok - it's meant to look like that. run an indepth AGV scan whilst u are in safe mode, and see what it finds. it will take a while..... when it finds the trojan, and any other spy ware, select to delete them all. this might solve your problem straight away. it didn't get rid of everything for me, i got an error message saying that my computer was still infected. if that's the case, switch the computer off, and start in normal mode. go back online to the website, and let the technical support team know u are having problems. this is also a free service. they should e-mail u back within 24hrs, and give u a link to something called AGV rootkit, which u need to download. if u run the rootkit in safe mode, it'll track down the sorce of the virus, and if u select to delete it, it'll get rid of the virus for good ! i was soooo relieved to finally find something that actually worked, and what's even better is that it's all totally free ! good luck - i hope u are sucessful too !

(1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans
(2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Um...you could either do some MS-DOSing, or a system restore.
System restore = easiest and most effective.

there are people who specialize in cleaning computers. your computer dealership may know of note worthy contacts.

what happens is that you extract all of your personal saved data and your programs and what is left is cleaned. it may cost a fee of some kind but isn't peace of mind wonderful?
