You can make anything positive, if this winds up not being exactly what you want to do to express yourself , to find those inner feelings that keep hollering at you, by the time you finish paying out the yazzoo, you will know exactly what you are going to do next, to find that self help that you are looking for. What ever you decide to do make sure that you are the one that is going to be happy in the end. GOOD LUCK

Before we can answer your question, what type of therapy are you asking about? Therapy for mental problems or physical therapy? Having has both types, I can say physical therapy was very helpful, I had an ACL reconstruction, and without PT I doubt my recovery would have been as fast as it was. Therapy for depression was a completley different story though, I was still in high school and it didn't help at all.

I really liked my therapist but my experience wasn't helpful. I was dealing with some stuff from childhood (nothing too major) and she felt it was best that I confront the person. Well, whenever you confront someone, they become defensive and are not going to say what you want to hear so it didn't work for me. I wish she would've actually encouraged me to let it go.

i see my therapist twice a month and i look forward to it every time!! i am a recovering addict/alcoholic (10 months clean/sober) i find it a huge relief to be able to finally get all of my frustrations off of my chest. i used to self medicate with drugs and alcohol (for 6 years) but now i do in a more healthy and productive way. i can learn from my mistakes now instead of letting them bring me further down. my therapist just listens to me and then offers her own perceptions to what is going on in my life. i think its great, but in order to get any satisfaction out of therapy you've got to go in there with an open mind and speak honestly about yourself and your life.

I really don't. It wasn't negative, but it wasn't helping either.
It varies for different people. You should try it for yourself and see if it works.
