Hey guys! I'm heading to Vegas shortly and I will be the only one of my friends who won't be 21 yet (I'm 20). My sister said I could borrow her ID. We KINDA look alike (more than most, people say it's not great but I might be able to pull it off). My question is, if I bring other ID such as social insurance number and her birth certificate (I'm Canadian) can I pull it off as long as I make sure I don't win big? If yes, could I get a player's card? Thanks for your help!! :)

I would suggest you not try to pull it off. I grew up here, and like many of my friend, purchased fake ID's with our real pictures on them. The ID's were done with real materials, but done illegally. I forked out 100's of dollars on both, and had both taken away in seconds when I tried using them at the clubs on the strip. Keep in mind that the casino business is a serious business here and they do train the bouncers well. The casinos make to much money to be lax and risk loosing their gaming or liquor licenses because of underage drinking or gambling. I was able to pull it off at local bars around town here- where it's not as serious. If you do try that- go far off the strip to try it!! Just be careful- I don't know what they would do seeing you are from outside the country. Best of luck!

I believe it is a criminal misdemeanor to gamble, or even loiter in the casino, if you are under 21. If you are going to gamble illegally don't do anything stupid like getting a player's club card - just take the money and run.

Whether or not you are going to get ejected or fined or arrested will probably depend on who you meet - is it just a change guy or security guard, or is it an agent from gaming control?

Your best bet is to just play it safe until the next time. Vegas will still be here when you're 21.

You have to give them id to get a player's card. Also, casinos are more strict than they have ever been after 9/11, so you can TRY using your sister's id - just bring the phone number of a good lawyer with you too. You'll need it when you get arrested.

That's like asking 'Can I get into a casino illegaly?"
The asnwer is apparent. you cannot.
If you use your sister's I.D. and get caught in a casino, there is a good chance you will asked to spend a few hours in the local police station while they call your parents. You could be fined also.
Why chance it? Why not just wait until you're 21? Why cause a probelm?

You will get in serious trouble in Las Vegas if you present a false ID. It's a gaming city and they take it very seriously.

Not to mention that you risk losing your sister's ID if caught. (An inconvenience to replace.) They are pretty strict about being in the casino. My niece was 20 when we visited, and you needed to walk through the casino just to get to the elevators to our rooms. She was stopped every time, and all she wanted to do was get to her room. Hope you get away with it. Don't be too disappointed if it does not work. Sorry. I know it su cks to be the only one who is not 21!

You can use ANY ID YOU WISH...illegally

So, whose name goes on the Player Card? What if you win and they find out...you lose the money, because you are there illegally...sounds like fun to me.

They hardly ever look, especially if you are a woman. My sister at fourteen used to go to the Vegas casinos, without a fake id.
