I would do one only if I suspected that people were using drugs or they were doing something illegal.

I'm assuming this is a middle or high school. Public or private, the owner is entitled to entry any time he wants. That's pretty much the case whenever you don't own the property. It's also the case when your car is parked on somebody else's lot, although I think they need to have an idea of what they're looking for. Not so with lockers. They're allowed to search for weapons or drugs as a precautionary measure. They don't have to spell it out to you either, although it might be mentioned in a student handbook. Mentioning what you can't have is sufficient warning. I'm assuming they found something. Sorry.

So idiots like Columbine don't do dumb things again. Bringing guns into schools is getting to be more prevalent
Law enforcement and school officials need to do searches often.
