The 13th amendment states that there should be no involuntary servitude. That is exactly what the draft is in my opinion. I mean, sure, you're paid, but you are REQUIRED to register for the draft, right?! Even if you don't want to be drafted, you are still required to go, correct? Please, no mean anti-liberal comments, just state your opinion as to why or why not it's unconstitutional.

It doesn't violate the 13th amendment to the constitution. When and if the draft is initiated it is done with full legality. If you are drafted then you will either go serve your period of duty or go to prison. How's that for fairness. I like the options that are made available. However, I'd support immediate execution by firing squad for all those who evade the draft.

I never thought about it but you're definitely right. draft is stupid I've always thought that, but it technically is illegal too.
