Can I hook television antenna where cable comes into house?

I want to get rid of cable and put up a television antenna. Can I undo where the cable comes into the house and then hook this to an outside antenna.

Of course, but DO NOT completely undo it. Install a simple 2-to-1 video mixer. On the mixer inputs install the output of the antenna and the Cable feed. Feed the output to your TV. Just make sure the mixer has the appropriate bandwidth to support HD Signals. You can install the mixer wherever it is more convenient for you.

If you get the cable company to shut off the cable signal, then it will do no good to hook that to an outside antenna. What you will have to do is put up your antenna, and rig it up so you can use coax cable to connect to the antenna ( using adaptor), andhook the other end where the cable TV was hooked. That should work, provided you have any ststions near enough to get a signal from.

no problem, disconect the last connection before the drop to the pole and hook into the splitter---you will need an amplifier/and or amplified antenna if you have more than 1 or 2 lines from the splitter--otherwise hook-up and tune the antenna for best reception
