Rosa Parks (that's the correct spelling) was a great black lady who was one of the 'sparks' of the Civil Rights movements in 1960's.
Until then, black people were segregated and had to ride in the backs of busses. They had segregated places in diners and rest rooms and could not even go into certain buildings. Can you imagine that?
In 1955, Rosa Parks got on a bus in Alabama and actually sat at the front of the bus.
Parks is famous for her refusal on December 1, 1955 to obey bus driver James Blake's demand that she relinquish her seat to a white man. Her subsequent arrest and trial for this act of civil disobedience triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott, one of the largest and most successful mass movements against racial segregation in history, and launched Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the organizers of the boycott, to the forefront of the civil rights movement. Her role in American history earned her an iconic status in American culture, and her actions have left an enduring legacy for civil rights movements around the world.
Rosa Parks died in 2006.

I think you mean Rosa Parks. She was a Black lady in Montgomery, Alabama who in 1955 refused to give up her seat on a city bus to a White man. It resulted in her arrest and the subsequent boycott of the city bus system by the Black community. She is considered one of the original Civil Rights originators.
