You should NOT wear a dress even 'remotely' like this one if you are only in the 8th grade ... and not even if you were graduating from high school. But, if what you 'like' about the dress are the 'big white spots' and the 'red bow' then you should get a nice dress with those that is more 'suitable' (and covering) for an 8th grader to wear to her graduation. Start with a 'short dress' since your graduation won't be an 'evening formal' occasion ... and you may go 'sleeveless' and have a 'scooped neckline' but nothing that bares your back and shoulders or your breasts even a 'little' ... save that for when you are MUCH older ... try shopping someplace 'just a little bit nicer' than you usually shop, and TAKE AN ADULT along who knows what you can afford and can help you choose what you'd look 'really nice' in that is also 'age appropriate. Good luck, hon ... and 'have a happy graduation.'

I like that dress, its so cute, but yeah hun, I think it may be just slightly too dressy for an eighth grade graduation dress, but maybe keep it in mind for prom in a few years! If you really like the polka dots, and want to keep with in the same theme here are some less pricey/less dressy looking dresses:

(you could switch out the black belt for another color if you wanted to break up the blue/black)

(switch out the white ribbon belt for a red one, and it's a shortened version of the same dress just about)
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=222515&CategoryID=21542
(a slightly more casual dress but just as cute, would also be great for a grad and could be used in everyday wear too)
Well I hope this helped a little bit, showed you some alternatives to the long dress. For a graduation, I would keep the hem shorter, sassier. Good luck!

for an eighth grader, that dress is WAY too dressy. however, you can easily find a shorter length polka dotted dress that would look similar and be much more inexpensive. try forever 21 :)

I think something less extravagant would be good, i mean it's more high-school grad that is more dressy-uppy..but something simple like:

is better for 8th grade grad...

I don't know wear you can get this dress, but it's the same idea, sophisticated, but not as dressy.
