prune that bush baby... prune it... nothing worse than stray "branches" slapping you in the face when you pass by.... i keep mine neatly pruned all year round, too much foliage ruins the "view" beneath... try a hand sized hedge trimmer lol

Presuming you are talking about a plant :-)
You will need sharp secateurs, Hedge clippers or electric hedge trimmers. Yes it can be over done, don't cut back into the hard wood, and by rule of thumb only remove a third of the bush at a time.

Try gathering a flashlight, safety goggles, satellite telephone, a chainsaw,a lawnmower and a bottle of lotion.Search your way though the thick, overgrown fields.Along the way drop bread crumbs,or droplets of whip cream so you can find your way back.Find a good starting point.Use chainsaw to remove the debris.Make sure you wear your goggles to not get any in your eyes.trim to a good level, grab a chair and enjoy the freshly trimmed bush.lol.....

If it's a bush in a garden - shears. If it's another kind of bush - a razor, I guess, but for your wife's sake make sure it's a safety razor...
