Hang in there sweetie, you still have a long way to go. When you have a contraction, you'll know it. They take your breath away and you can't hold still. That pressure is just from the baby getting bigger, and it'll just get worse until you're closer to your due date. They could also be Braxton Hicks contractions. Those feel like you're stomach is tightening and getting really hard (and sometimes VERY uncomfortable!) and are completely normal.

If you start to have real contractions (ones that are very painful), you need to call your doctor and get lots of rest. You don't want that baby coming out yet, he or she isn't ready and premature births are very difficult. Take care of yourself so you can carry that baby to term, that's the best thing you can do.

REAL labor contractions, as opposed to the false or "practice" contractions, are not just bad stomach aches (similar to bad menstrual cramps) but are also accompanied with a few other symptoms. If you have leaking fluid (but not with all women because not all women's water breaks naturally), if the stomach pains you're feeling are not only in your stomach area, but also your lower back, if you have pink or bloody mucous discharge or A LOT of mucous discharge (<--- mucous plug came out), and REAL labor contractions that can be timed about 5 minutes apart consistently for an hour, then you may be going into labor very shortly. False labor contractions are usually irregular and short and has no pattern, not really close together, and doesn't grow stronger. However, every woman is different so just call your doctor just to be sure, because also if you're 30 wks and already having labor contractions you could be going into premature labor and SHOULD BE seen right away! Anything after 37 wks is ok.

NOTE: If you have time and energy to come on line and ask about it, then you're probably not going into labor!

Hopefully you are not in labor. 30 weeks too early, if it can be avoided. If you are having contractions (first baby or not), you should know. They will feel like the worst cramps ever and then go away and you won't have any more pain (usually) you will also be able to feel your stomach tightening. every woman can experience contractions a little differently (like if you are having back labour). That would be feeling th pain in your lower back. The pressure is normal to feel though. It could just be that your baby dropped and you're not used to it yet. OR you could always be having braxton hicks contractions. What you should do is eat a light snack, drink some juice and walk around for a few minutes. If it is braxton hicks contractions doing this will make them go away. If the pain continues and the contractions do too, you need to go to the labour and delivery room to be monitored for contractions to prevent pre-term labour. Unless it's an emergency though, they most likely won't let you have the baby yet either way.

Call your doctor, a baby bron at 30weeks is very early, if possible the doctor will help stop the onset of labour and deliever. IT is possible that the baby has just engaged and is why you feel that there is allot of pressure on your lower stomach. Contractions start at the top of the uterus and flow down. It's also possible you are having braxton hicks contractions, these often start lower, and are irregular. good luck. But i would call your dr all the same

Pressure is very common this far along. Hang tight. You might be experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions.

Is the pain you feel radiating around to your back, then back to your belly again? That is a way to describe how contractions feel. I cant say you will KNOW you are having them, but you should have a pretty good idea because contractions are not comfortable. When you have the feeling, is it more difficult to breathe??

Call you doc and let him know how you are feeling. Good Luck and Congrats!

Don't stress. You'll KNOW when it's time. Pressure is one thing, but true labor hurts like a you-know-what! If you're unsure, call your doctor or go to the ER. If you're wrong, you wouldn't be the first, and you won't be the last. I went to the ER 4 times with my daughter before I was actually in labor. The 5th time was the real one.

Call your doctor. But if you have to ask then I don't think you are in labor. When true labor pains hit you'll know. They might just be false labor pains. But just to make sure call the doctor becuase full term isn't until 37 weeks. Congrats and good luck to you

OK first off...CALL YOUR DR!! 30 weeks is NOT a time to have your baby yet....take it from me! my oldest was 32 weeks and that was such a scary ordeal! pressure is normal but those could be contractions and you don't want to mess with labor yet either! good luck!

your term should last for 40 weeks, if you are feeling contractions now you may be getting "bracks and hicks contractions" they are preparing you for the real thing. since this is your first, relax..... time the contractions and watch for your mucus plug.

i felt like i was in labor every time i got upbut when i would see my dr she'd tell me i was fine and dilated. so maybe your dilating. to me that always felt like mini-labor. plus if it's your first and you don't live hours away from a hospital you should have enough time. don't stress out. women have been having babies for how long? you'll be fine
