I live in the U.S.A. but I've always been drawn toward Ireland and Scotland, but for no particular reason. The area is fascinating to me but I don't know why. I have ancestory there but no good way to trace it. Other than that, I'm not sure why. I'd love to visit both some day. Anybody else have the same kind of "feeling"?

Sounds like you may be destined to go and explore these countries or maybe even take up residence there.
I am personally drawn to the florida keys, bahamas and pretty much any tropical location. Everyone has a subconscious pull to go certain places. Some more than others.

Hmmm maybe you were Irish in a past life. I have a strange fascination with Japanese culture. I've been like that since I was little too. When I was three my mom bought me a kimono and I wore it every chance I got. But I'm mostly into old Japanese like samurai, Geishas, and the art and literature. I love Japanese food too, I am a sushi addict. I think it is common for people to have an admiration for other cultures or countries. You should go and visit Ireland and Scotland. There's probably a reason you are drawn to it. I want to go to Japan but I am terrified of taking a transatlantic flight.

So glad you asked this question. For some strange reason I have a strong longing to live in Portugal. Don't know why,. I was born in a small town on the coast of Oregon, and have lived for over 48 years in California. Yet, I am anxiously awaiting retirement so I can move to Portugal. Can someone explain this odd fascination?

Also, I am deeply uncomfortable and feel threatened when I live too far inland; I have to be somewhere near the Ocean. Is this because I was born on the Pacific Coast of Oregon?

Yes, I think we all are drawn to some place that we consider better than where we are at the time. As for myself, I am drawn to Arizona although I have only visited there for a very short time. I think it is all human nature to be some where else better or that you think is better than where you are at the present.

I've always seemed to be drawn to Indian culture but not necessarily to the country. I also have always had some random yearning to visit Machu Picchu in Peru.
