The Sedition Act? The Sedition Act forbade Americans to use "disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language" about the United States government, flag, or armed forces during World War One. It was repealed in 1921.

Is this guy a kook or what? Guess he never bothered to read the First Amendment.

The man is a conservative,

You can't expect him to have any understanding of what America is all about.

People that support him are not patriots. They are nationalists.

Such acts are common during times of war. Lincoln and FDR both enacted similar laws restricting free speech during a time of war. Savage just believes that the war we are currently in involving Muslim extremists is as important as the Civil War, World War I, or World War II.

Personally, I am not sure how you could enact and enforce such a law in the modern world of telecommunications and the Internet. While you may be able to control the big media outlets, you can never really stop the flow of information or ideas. I think it would be a waste of time.

Because they are fascist and only believe their way is right. They are too stupid to realize that in this country the other side could be in power and then the chains they use to bind others would be used on themselves. Remember how they changed their minds about the line item veto the moment Clinton became President?

Hey as long as we are devolving. Let's bring back slavery. I could use a good farm labor job with free food and housing. That's a liberal dream come true.

Plus it solves that pesky immigration issue

With the likes of Hanoi Jane and whatsherface Sheehan out there spouting their own personal hatred of the Chief who guides our troops, I can see why Savage has pondered this option.

Little do these people know, but their anti-American, anti-troop, anti-war rhetoric DOES get broadcast to our soldiers. I wouldn't be against a government funded sock stuffed in their mouths.

Frank: "Savage is a Jew." And Hannity is a Catholic and Limbaugh is a Protestant. Do you have a point, or are you trying to imply that Jews are against free speech?

Because that is what patriotism is about, defending your flag. AND dying to do that. You should try serving your country sometime, instead of BASHING those who have fought and died, or will fight give you EVERY RIGHT you have

It's actually a self-defense measure.

To prevent liberals from hurting themselves. For who wants to know how stupid liberals can be? I know I don't.
