lease is up November 30th? I am currently living with my mom, but I don't want to go broke just because I'm impatient to wait. Take heed that I am engaged, and I am pregnant (due in July, getting married approximately 7 weeks after I deliver). Please give me some advice.

I would tell you to wait, but that doesn't sound like your strong suit...

Living together, having a baby, getting married - all BIG decisions.

Having to pay $795 - not a BIG lifechanging amount.

Make your decision based on your relationship with hima nd what you want for your child and your marriage. Don't let a little money make the decision for you.

Good answer on the first one. It's just ridiculous to expect you to pay $795 to switch units in the same complex. Any manager in their right mind should gladly let you switch with a new 12 month lease. They've just guaranteed themselves to not have that unit open right before the holidays, which in many areas is not a good time to find new tenants.

If you mother doesn't mind you living with her and won't mind you and the baby living with her, just wait until his lease expires. $795 will buy a lot of diapers!

On the other hand, if your arrangement with your mother is not a good one, I don't see it getting better with the addition of a baby -- that would make the $795 spent on a bigger apt. a good investment towards keeping your relationship with your mom. Only you can decide. Good luck.

I'd say wait until after the lease is up, or move in with him in the smaller apartment. $795 can buy a LOT of diapers!

It seems that you are already imbued with procrastination tendencies, so why not wait now? Are you sure your boyfriend is telling you the whole truth? Check it out for yourself.
Ask the Apt. Mgmt. to apply the rest of the present lease to an upgrade, and add another year. Most places will do that just to get the additional year's lease out of you;

Move in with him into the 1 bedroom. The baby doesn't need its own room until they are into a bigger crib, and sleeping through the night anyway. It will give you time to get the nursery set up in the new apartment before the baby is ready for the move to its own room.
