car has been sitting up for a couple of months, but was starting fine. now it acts like it wants to start on first try but doesn't fully catch on. after that motor just turns over. it has plenty of gas in the tank. before this it had problems running hot. i took loose the heater core hoses to check the flow and the distributor was sitting under the flow of water. could this be the problem?

I'd spray some WD-40 in your distributor cap. If that doesn't work, when you turn your key on, listen and make sure your fuel pump is turning on. If not, check the relay. If the relay is good, it could be your fuel pump. Always install a new filter when changing the pump. Could also be water in the tank or dirty gas clogging the filter or injectors.

it is going to get weaker after some tries...turning over makes use of the battery a ton. yet, if it really is turning over, then it isn't your battery causing your failure to commence. It would not even turn over in the journey that your battery grow to be lifeless. i ought to say gas pump fuse or something else electric powered were given tangled up once you replaced the fuses.
