How do you effectively clean car windows in a car that has been smoked in? I have tried Windex and the Glass cleaners from the Auto store.... still leaving streaks! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

I am in the detail cleaning business and here is our secret!
We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

In colder weather, the ammonia in Windex, etc., is what leaves streaks. Get the Windex that has NO AMMONIA, and has Vinegar instead. The vinegar won't leave streaks, and is such a small part of the mixture that it won't leave a vinegar smell either. Or, if the job is REALLY TOUGH, you can go get a pump bottle of straight vinegar at your grocery store, spray it directly onto the windshield, and wipe, and it will definitely clear the mess and leave absolutely no streaks, but will leave a vinegary smell in your car for a while. Try the Windex with vinegar and NO AMMONIA. I've used it for years and have had absolutely no problem whatsoever. God Bless you.

Try cleaning with windex using a slightly damp cloth. Then dry the windows with a dry cloth. Good luck.

Wash with dish soap and water first, then polish with windex and newspaper. Just like new.

You can get some stuff from walmart that comes in a tube. Its actually a bit gritty and you put in on with a wet cloth and scrub a bit then wipe it off. Its supposed to remove road film, car wax and inside film from windows
