Then how would be the doctor. Who would be in the love triangle. It would be as interesting if Jack was dead. Who would help Locke and the other people uncover what is going on. There just wouldn't be as much drama.

Why would they write him out?
1. he is considered a "sex symbol" and keeps the women watching.
2. he is involved in a 3 sided love triangle, which has yet to be played out.
3. because he hasn't finished his story line and isn't asking to be let out of his contract.
But all that being said..Lost writers have done stranger things.. soooooo whooo knows.

He was supposed to die in the Pilot episode, but he is such a major character now and so well liked, heck, he's the only surgeon on the Lost islands!
They (the Others) need him.

Why do get the idea he should be dead? He's one of the main and best characters.

Because he's the so-called leading man, personally I find him dull, many of the other characters are far more interesting!

Why would he be? He is been kept by "The Others" and they wont kill him because they need him for his medical skills. I doubt they will kill him off in the future either, he is the main character.

WHY WOULD YOU THINK HE WAS DEAD? HE SAVED BEN. THE OTHERS NEED HIM. I THINK WILL FIND LATER ON THAT THE OTHERS AREN'T AS BAD AS WE THOUGHT.
