We have been together 5 months, but he is such a hard person to buy for. He's not really into sweet things like cuddly toys etc, and because we are both on a budget i cant afford anything too much such as aftershave etc. He will probably get me something small like a cuddly toy or something like that, so even though i want to get him something nice, i dont want it to look like i made too much effort! He dont drink wine or anything like that, only vodka, but i wanna get him something he can keep and think of me, not something we will end up drinking together.
I dont know about maybe getting some nice underwear, or something sexy? (it might help you answer if you know that we are a gay couple?)
He is 30 if that helps?

how about an IOU for long hot massage...and you can buy a little book of love cheques from waterstones or clintons and sign them all!. another great gift is yourself...wearing something skimpy and sexy! or nothing but a smile!
firebox.com have some fab wee things...and cheap too but dont know if you would get them in time for the big day. write him a dirty poem and put it inside a home made card!

How about a coffee mug, and if you have time, get one with a photo of the two of you on it.
Or put a photo of the two of you in a photo frame and give that as a gift.
Even a nice card with a handwritten note with something written from the heart in it would mean a lot.

I agree with the potted plant idea, if he can keep it alive. If you know of something he wanted before, say at Christmas, then you have an instant, spot on hit!
The right kind of underwear might also be really good.

Get him a nice soft Teddy Bear, and then buy a bottle of Boone's Sangria wine ($4.00...but tasty). Then light some candles and cuddle up to a good movie, Under The Tuscan Sun. Then let him know how he makes you feel.

Personally I like the idea of potted plants - A potted plan with flowers is romantic enough, but not over the top like plain cut flowers. And he'll think of the giver each time he waters it!
