You can buy a universal remote. They have the brand name of the opener on the back of the package with instructions indicating how to set the remote for your opener. Sears carries them and probably Home Depot.

geniecompany.com or call 1-(800) 354-3643. they will tell you what model remote you need. remotes will be available at some home depots, just don't expect them to have any technical advice. overhead door company (the one with the red ribbon in their name) owns genie, overhead door company openers are just relabeled genies, will also have the remotes. expect to pay about $30. genie will not give you a remote for free. universal remotes are "iffy". I've seen them work on some models perfectly and give nothing but trouble on others, stay away from them except as a last resort.

I think if you go to a local hardware store and ask them, they have remotes so you can reprogram the whole garage door opener. I think you just have to buy an extra thing to attatch to the opener to change and reset the frequency that the opener operates on.

No manual??
Pop open the opener and see if there is numbers on it, anything you can follow up on. Or just check for the visual, and see if it
matches anything on the genie website, as to age etc.
You will find it, and I would also call the local dealer in your area,
who knows, he may have installed it or at least have more ideas.
good luck
