He really is THAT bad...sorry to break the news to you. He singlehandedly lost the superbowl for the Bears and if you noticed, he did nothing for them the whole season. They one a few games solely on their D. I just gotta add to, BRIAN URLACHER IS AMAZINGG!

I think it is a few things.

1. Rivalry. Pretty much anyone who is a fan of someone in competition with the Bears is going to dislike the guy, because the Bears come in and kick their butts all the time since Grossman came on. Yeah, it may be more the defense doing it, but Grossman is still the poster boy. Lots of people hate Peyton Manning, too, for more or less the same reason. Grossman has the added bonus of being a Florida alumni, a team that has a lot of detractors.

2. Jealousy. Some people are naturally jealous of people who are successful. This is especially true in the rivalry context, or in situations where a player is generally not thought to be as good as some other "more worthy" opponents. In other words, Grossman is not exactly an all-pro kind of quarterback, and yet he was able to go to the Superbowl. That ticks some people off, particularly fans of other teams who may have a player THEY like that they wished had made it.

3. Finally, there are going to be some Bears fans who hate him right now, too. Why? Because they wanted to win the Superbowl, and they didn't. Is it all Grossman's fault? No. But he is the one that gets all the attention, and he didn't exactly do anything to save the day, did he? A good season next year will put this one to rest.

Ultimately, it is just a part of sports, especially if your team is successful. There is little that he could do about it. If he plays better, Bear fans will be happier, but everyone else will hate him even more. Vice versa if he plays worse. Welcome to the NFL!

ok you are going to find this soo weird but this is coming from a Huge colts fan. anyway rex is having a bad time im sure he is playing badly because of his low fans. these bears fans wont give him a chance and he has had some really good plays too ! he made all those touchdowns that lead the bears to the super bowl. even though the bears lost the big game rex did drop the ball a few times but it was raining really bad and it was wet imagine how hard that must be ..... to play in the pouring rain and plus instead of throwing a fit on the sideline rex took his loss well and he stood tall while talking to the press. so you see rex is a really good player down deep inside THE END

Grossman isn't the worst QB in the NFL. Charlie Frye, Harrington, all of us commencing for the Raiders all have him beat. the full Bears offense appeared inept the day gone by, no longer purely Grossman. Berrian end working that path, so the %. is merely as lots his fault as that's Grossman's. The O line did no longer block for ****, Benson and Peterson have now enhance into Rashaan Salaam incarnates, & Muhammed persevered to drop passes. Plus, it became beginning weekend and an away game against between the main suitable communities in the NFL. Grossman confirmed that he has matured somewhat--he became stepping up, he became going to his verify-down greater. i think of that's somewhat too early for the Griese calls. If Grossman continues to be enjoying like this in Week 4, then supply him the hook. yet once you think of Griese is the respond, you're ineffective incorrect.

I don't hate him, I just think he's got a lot to work on to be a solid NFL QB. Namely hanging on to the football. Even when its not raining he has trouble fumbling. He also trys to do too much - sometimes you just have to throw the ball away instead of throwing into triple coverage down field.

People didn't really hate him until he played like crap against the Packers and when they asked him what happened he told the press that he was caught up in the plans for New Years rather than the game. the comment made him look like a real tool to alot of people.

He is fine...and average quarterback in the NFL. CHicago did so well at the beginning that they had high hopes for him as another Brett Farve. He still may be with some experience...this was essentially his rookie year in the NFL due to injuries.

It is not that he is a bad player. Usually, when people say they "hate" a professional player. The either simply hate the team they play for, or just say it because they know nothing about football.

I am a big Red Sox fan. I say "I hate Derek Jeter."

Because he's a Yankee, not because he's a bad player.

It isn't like we actually hate him, it is the fact that he is inconsistent, he may have a "good game" if you can call it that. But he is hack, and will probably start QB the first 3 games then get benched.

Um...well...he's not very good? How else can we answer that? First year to play all 16 games...maybe he'll be better next year...but until then...he's a bad QB...
