I'm not familiar with the US, but I've seen the PS.
On the one hand, by not combining the two you allow each to shine. Their individual glory can stand out and be admired by one and all. The eye is not confused about where to gawk.
On the other hand, if the US is anything like the PS, it might be best to pair them together. That way you can come up with a plausible reason for sporting them (i.e., I'm going to a costume party!)
