That isn't really true. True, ticks can jump many times higher than their own size, but if a tick (or flea) was as big as a person it couldn't do that any more. That is because the tick's weight increases as the cube of its size, but its strength increases only as the square of its size. That is the reason Elephants can't jump at all. They are just too big.

Another way to think of it is if a human were as small as a tick (or flea), he could probably jump many times his own height, and if an elephant were as small as a dog, it could jump quite well. That is because weight would goes down faster than strength as size gets smaller.

size does not determine ability to jump off a building. anyone could jump off a building. ants could jump off a building. ya know? if they felt like it.
