32*1.09=34.88
32 dollars plus the 9% tip (altogether) is $34.88

Zwink - Stacy pays $32-00 and her tip is just 3% of the 32.00

Then there is tax - you Americans are wierd :-)

3/100 X 32 = 0.96 (ie 96c)

So Stacy pays $32.96

3 x 32 = .96c.
= $32.96

32.00 = 100% + 3x 3% tip = 109%

32/109*100 = $29.36

cheap basterds they are ^^ they shoulda tipped more.
